History

Oxgarth Press is an Oxfordshire-based publishing company. It was founded in 1999, as Dodo Publishing, by Philip Atkins and Michael Johnson. Philip passed away from cancer in 2009 and the business continues under the name of Oxgarth Press.

In 1999 we published The Heart of Oxford – a guidebook to the academic heart of Oxford. In 2005 we published The Dodo Guide to Oxford, which this time covered all of Oxford. Further editions appeared in 2006 and 2008. In 2010 the guidebook was retitled as The Pocket Guide to Oxford, and a fifth edition was published in 2012.
